hi Rob
But what about the Panny G5? That's my current front runner in the upgrade stakes. I shoot nearly all the time using the VF2 accessory eye level viewfinder on the E-PL3, so I am looking at the G5 with interest. It's REAL dimensions when fitted with a lens are fractionally SMALLER than my "little" E-PL3 with lens plus VF2, and it has ergonomics that are streets ahead and a built-in pop-up flash for fill in and family snaps.
Cheers, geoff
I'm inclined to agree with you, Hen3ry.
I've been shooting exclusively with Olympus stuff for the past two years but none of the Olympus cameras are quite right for me. I dislike the ergonomics on the E-PMx, E-PLx and OM-D. The E-P3 is a fantastic little camera but I find the grip a bit small and would like an integrated viewfinder.
The only things stopping me from buying the G5 are the great colours I've been getting from the E-P3 and the fact that Olympus cameras have IBIS. However, Panasonic's colour palette has improved recently and I find IBIS to be useless anyway.
If I was looking to upgrade right now, I think I'd go for the G5.
I also own an EP3 which I enjoy using even though I own other cameras, can you tell me you current EP3 settings for Jpeg output. I also enjoy looking at your award winning images. Cheers.
Hello friend,
Well, I made that posting more than one year ago. To be honest, most of my images now are processed from RAW. I usually shoot RAW plus the largest, fine jpeg setting. Usually I end up preferring the image processed from RAW, and I discard the original jpeg.
My settings for jpeg (and also for RAW) are usually all"neutral" - ie. "0" for sharpening, "natural" for colour, "normal" for contrast, RGB +- "0", "auto" for ISO, etc.
