Ummm . . . since signal-to-noise ratio is dimensionless, would not the signal have the same units as those used for noise?

Therefore, if my noise is expressed as e-, The Signal would be in e- , would it not?

For example, if N photons x QE = 45,000e- and (poisson noise e- +dark e- + Johnson e-) r.m.s = 250e-, then SNR = 45000/250 -> 45dB.
