The 60mm is s no longer slow

It's fast enough in daylight for most of uses It has roughly the speed of the 18-55mm at 55mm

What you have to be aware of is that it is a macro lens so moving from infinity to close does take some time My canon 10mm L IS macro is laso slow in that case

But if you prefocus first then focus is normally fast

In very dim light ot focuses where the 5D refuses
