Help with infrared post processing, part II

Hi all,

So I am continuing my attempts to post process infrared images and have run into yet another challenge. This time with winter photos.

First the raw image from my IR converted Canon T3i Rebel with a 665 nm filter:

Already as this point i could see my troubles beginning since the colour difference between the snow and the sky was minimal.

Then I processed the image through my standard CS5 channel swapping:

and as I expected there was very little difference between ... well everything in the picture.

So I tried adjusting the levels in order to get some differences highlighted in the image and ended up with this:

and then ... as usual ... I turned for help.

Does anyone have any good ideas how to get more differentiation into a photo like this? I tried the magic wand with various tolerance but it really did not help.

Any help is greatly appreciated.
