18-200mm? Good choice.

For Nepal, you'll want to juxtapose puny humans against the massive backdrop of the mountains. The way to do that photograph people several or many yards away, which will shrink them down even with a telephoto trained on them. If you use a short or normal focal length, the humans will either be too large and/or the mountains too small.

The wide end will come in handy, of course, for architecture, groups of people in confined areas, and unusual and therefore compelling perspectives/compositions.

The one drawback I see is that the 18-200mm lens is fairly heavy, which sort of negates the reason for taking a NEX camera.
