Anyone have suggestions on how to expose for bad light and get some light or detail on the dark feathers. This is what I struggle with the most.

Great shots.........shooting eagles in flight is somewhat similar to shooting airshows....... metering the bright skies will underexpose the undersides of aircraft all of the time since they cover a small percentage of the frame so it's best to overexpose by a couple of stops to capture the shadows and proper details.
