Re: Don't buy E-P3

I bought an E-PL5 to replace a Pana GF3.
I also had at this time a Nikon D7000.

When I saw the IQ of the E-PL5, I decided to sell my Nikon as there were no noticeable difference, especially concerning the dynamic range of the sensor (the GF3 sensor was not very good speaking of dynamic range)

I recently realized I needed a second body for shooting video while taking stills, and I found a E-P3 near 200 € (body only) on eBay.

I must say that the resolution (12MP vs 16MP) does not make a huge difference. Moreover, the kit zooms which are a bit disappointing on E-PL5 are just fine on the E-P3 (especially the 12-50, which I think is must-have if you shoot video).

The ergonomics of the E-P3 is much better : two axis level indicator, two wheels, etc.

But it is not the same story speaking of low-light performance and dynamic range. The difference between the two sensors is huge !!!

I understand now that the EM5 or the E-P5 may be near the "perfect camera", but the E-PL5 is a very good choice, offering the same IQ for a more reasonable budget.
