They all look soft to me, but dogs are very patient, and they are happy to work with you as long as your want!

One basic rule that always makes animal and baby shots better, is to get a lower point of view -- get down to a level (or raise them up to a level) where you are shooting at (their) eye level.  It is easy to shoot looking down at them, and it seems natural, because that is the normal relationship we have with them, but it (almost) never works.
