He's not shooting the wedding, he's shooting a pre-wedding photo.

I don't see what the big deal is anyway. I shot weddings for friends back in film days and I got my uncle to shoot my wedding - I even lent him my Nikon F3 so that he had two bodies. I'm very happy with my wedding album and I'm very happy with the compliments I got on the ones I took.
