Re: Travelling with just an iPhone camera?

I won't even get into the image quality debate.  My answer is two simple words:  battery life.  Until there is a major break through in battery technology, a smartphone will NEVER replace a camera for me if I know I need to take more than a handful of shapshots.  I depend too much on the smartphone to communicate, etc. and battery life is always a struggle, especiallly when travelling.  To waste battery life by using the phone as a primary camera is not something I want to do.  There are plenty of decent enthusiast compacts that are small and will do just fine for your purposes (and, in my view, be more useful in more situations than an iPhone camera).
