Oh come on. What major automobile company hasn't built a lemon or worse killed people and they are still around and doing well. Anyone ever heard of Firestone tires killing people , they are doing just fine. How about all the food manufacturer's or fast food restaurants that killed people with bad food, yep they are all doing just fine today.

Nikon will do just fine, Canon has a similar problem they tried to ignore, as other camera companies did also. Cameras are built by humans and humans are not perfect "stuff happens"

Nikon stepped up and is doing what a responsible company should do and that's making things right - who can ask for more than that.

Anyone want to talk about all the Chinese junk that is dumped all over the world, or the tainted food they sell?

This is nothing more than a blip on the radar.

I tend to agree with you, but it'll require some action on the part of Nikon, especially in Asia, since that's where markets are still growing and Nikon cannot let this become a commonly-held view in that part of the world. I think cameras and cars are different products, cameras are not what people think as essential in their lives as cars are, or some other consumer products, like phones, etc. It's important that their brand name stays associated to high quality products and attention to consumers.
