On my Nikon lenses I always had UV filter and frequently swapped it out for a polarizing filter (a lot of shooting on the ocean) or a ND gradient to control the sky .  With the N6 I never bothered to get filters, but now with the a6000 coming I've bought a few more lenses.

A UV filter to protect the lens for travel photography seemed like a good idea as can be a bit of banging around.  But one more piece of glass can't be that good for IQ.

What's the general consensus on UV filters? Yes, no, sometimes?
