My 2 cents on why mirrorless cameras aren't catching on is price for bodies, lenses are too high for the market.

I agree. Mirrorless cameras are dramatically overpriced for what they offer.

The E-PM2 2 lens kit providing a 28-300mm equivalent range sells for under $400, while the G6 with EVF, articulated touch screen, excellent video and kit lens sells for under $600. Price isn't the issue.

The issue is one of perception.

Especially in the U.S., mirrorless cameras need to overcome the old canard that "bigger is better", while in the world of electronic advances it's more often the opposite. Changing this will require a strong and consistent ad campaign.

Taking a page from Apple, perhaps showing a full-featured mirrorless camera such as the E-M10 and its extensive system of equally small lenses in use by a hip young person alongside a DSLR and its lenses in the hands of a very-unhip person.  Convenience matters and style sells, just look at cellphones, but first you have to communicate it, something mirrorless manufacturers continue to fail to do.

But all camera sales have been tanking, so things such as an aging demographic, market saturation and likely the end of a fad also come into play.  We'll see, tha markets like nothing better than to surprise us with an unexpected turn.
