To the point analysis.

One thing I have noticed, and it may not be news to anyone, but compared to what I was using in the Canon realm (15-85mm, 3.5-5.6), I don't have to stop down to maybe F8 or F11 on a landscape to get detail if I don't want to. Seems that the detail is there, and this might be what you mean by sharpness. In my world, at my level, I am very happy with this feature.
