Is the 12-40mm good enough to forego 12mm, 17mm, 25mm and 45mm primes?

Seattle and Vancouver is our destination in late May, if the money holds up. I will be in my trying-to-shoot-while-having-a-romantic-vacation-with-the-wife mode!

Vancouver is great, but you can't beat the islands for romantic retreats (with amazing photo settings). Look into the the West coast of Vancouver Island - Tofino-Ucluelet area is pretty amazing for this. If you're a bit more adventurous, look into Bamfield, best accessed by plane or boat down the Alberni inlet. It is one of the few mostly unspoiled gems left on the west coast. Brady's Beach is among the most amazing in the world.

If your wife is a bit less adventurous, the East side of the Island and the Gulf Islands offer many options as well. Saltspring is best known, but also pricey. The smaller islands are worth checking out. Of course there are some really nice spots on the US gulf islands also, but ours are nicer.
