Apple TV 3, video formats, AVCHD
I just picked up a Sony SLT A65 camera, which can shoot both MP4 (1440 x 1080, 24p) and AVCHD videos. For AVCHD it has many options, including 1920x1080 at 24p, 60i and 60p. If my main goal is to easily get these videos into iTunes so I can show them via a 3rd gen Apple TV, can anyone tell me the best way to go about it? I first tried shooting AVCHD in 1080i/60, but iTunes wouldn't accept it. I ended up using handbrake to convert it to something iTunes and the Apple TV were happy with. I think in general I'd like to avoid this hassle since these are just home movies.
So is 1440x1080/24p MP4 the best way to go? Or is one of the AVCHD options particularly easy to work with on iTunes and Apple TV?
