Good morning,

I have recently purchased this lens, after a significant drop in price compared to the initial asking price. This a very good lens optically, much better than the old 24mm lens it replaces. The IS is a good option for those occasions where one wants to travel lighter and without a tripod, but still be able to take a landscape shot at dawn or dusk. It really makes the lens more versatile.

As part of my usual routine of "lens testing" I go before sunrise to a beach near my home, and make some shots. These are some photos from the session, with a few long exposures using a 900X ND filter.

The lens shows a small amount of barrel distortion, and a small amount of CA in extreme backlit conditions (e.g. lamp posts against the sunrise in some of my shots). These defects can be easily corrected in one-click button options in LR.

All in all, I am very happy with this little 24mm lens. Perfect companion for my 6D, together they make a very high quality but light landscape kit.

Regards.

Hi Paulo!!

I'm portuguese and I'm decided to buy this lens too.

May you tell us where did you buy yours? Because there's a downprice at Fnac and I find it suspicious because it seams very cheap, comparing with amazon.

I have a 7D and just want a small and light lens to use when traveling and paring it with my pancake 40mm will be a "must have". These 2 should be fine for me.

Nice work you have!!
