I don't think anyone does. It's just that some photogs are pinned to it until technology evolves to the point they don't need it anymore.

The trend is obvious and inescapable.


It's not the mirror, it's the OVF the mirror enables.

In any case, the mirror/pentaprism setup are just one less mechanical piece to make and calibrate. I do see CaNikon taking their low end cameras mirrorless and maintaining their native mounts once the cost of EVFs gets low enough... or maybe even abandoning a viewfinder altogether and making them an add on option. IMO Sony will be  the first to drop it because Sony loves to start and abandon platforms. They also foolishly made a whole new mount instead of utilizing the expansive Minolta/A-mount library.
