I had a choice to use a DSLR, or the Sony RX100II to photograph a parade.
I decided to use the Sony RX100 for my first attempt at such a function.
Reflecting on my experience, I would probably use the DSLR for future parade photography.
Parades are usually pretty noisy activities, and drown out the sound of the electronic shutter. I couldn't tell the exact time of the exposure occurrence.
Using the screen on a sunny day was also difficult, Luckily I had the portable EVF with me, or I would have not been able to use the camera.
When I got home and viewed the images on my computer, I was impressed with the sharpness and color rendering.
