Re: Huge file sizes Yes but quite relieved after first outing.

Yes thanks agree with your comments.

A couple of days with D800 and I am satisfied I have no problems with the large file size and the speed of Lightroom or Capture NX2. I am also able to edit in Photoshop and Nik/Vivazia etc with no issues.

I have a Dell XPS 420, now a few years old but with Solid State Drive and a good graphics card and several external Toshiba hard drives.

Running Windows & with only about 8 gig of RAM. I am therefore quite surprized how well it is doing.

I have been trying to get to grips with Lightroom for about four years but only feel confident with it for about the last nine months, now I think it is brilliant for a library and editing.

I used to like NX2, Still use it but as a second string quick edit tool.

After a couple of days with the D800 I am just starting to see the potential and think I will be very content with it.
