Entirely agree. Normally I would shoot RAW, but as I mentioned in the post I had inadvertently set the camera to JPEG only. Lesson learned I hope. I normally shoot RAW with my NX100 and Pentax K-01 but on this occasion I was quite impressed with what I managed to get out of the JPEG output, so all was not lost. My limited RAW files I've taken with the NX1100 so far do seem to indicate even more scope for extracting image than the K-01.
