Potential dead horse: how bad is FF's deep DoF disadvantage?

Re: Long tele and close macro

DOF is not the issue. In fact, we have seen ability to use a larger sensor at crops. Sony 36MP sensor FF camera can work as a 16MP APSc camera. So, a 200mm lens now provides a FOV of 300mm lens.

When it comes to macro, it also comes down to subject magnification. Crop factor does not affect that. A 30mm wide subject can be recorded at lifesize magnification on FF sensor but on m43, it will have to be nearly half that size, so you either record half the subject or use half the magnification (consequently increasing DOF). Or, simply use a high density large sensor in crop mode.
