This shot is what convinced me to shoot in RAW (RX10)

^ This.  I took several shots at the Boston Public Library with my RX100 that were essentially useless in JPEG.  They looked somewhat similar to the OP's OOC JPEG for this shot.  When I PP'd the RAW file though, there was actually a considerable amount of recoverable data.
