Of course there is a size and weight advantage!

Nikon 1 native lenses are small, short and light!

If you want to get into the nonsensical semantics of equivalent focal lengths and equivalency thats up to you! 

For me my Nikon V1 with native lenses is a nice compact alternative to my Nikon D3200 with AFS lenses!
