FZ200 - rear dial died. Have you had this happen?

After 14 months/ 2791 exposures, my "beloved" rear dial died today.  Pushing it in no longer switches from e.g. Aperture to Exposure Compensation, so I cannot set the latter.

I always disliked this bundling of 2 main functions into a control with all the sensitivity of a cheap cigarette lighter, and this is its revenge.

I have sent the camera to Panasonic UK's repair partner, DK Audio Visual, and Panasonic have told me that because it is only just over 2 months out of warranty, the repair may be eligible for their "Cost Assistance Procedure", in the form of a partial refund after I have paid for the repair.

First time I have ever had a problem with a Panasonic.

I'll let you know how this works out.
