Re: Enough measure baiting over the resolution.

I really wanted to expound on the tech needed to make the SD platform have a bright future as an interchangeable lens system.

Would a camera based calibration system be a workable solution for most folks. The current micro adjust on the SD1 and Global Vision dock are mostly guessing systems. Change the setting and see if it works.

I mean SA mount lenses already have built in aperture operators. Would it be too much to add a leaf shutter or can the two be combined as a diaphragm system kind of like on compact still cameras.

It obvious that getting a sharp image on these higher resolution sensor is a challenge so what type of out of the box thinking is needed?

A bad day of train chasing is better than a good day at work.

There is a big difference between making an aperture work and making an aperture that works with exact timing to work as a high-speed shutter. Imagine making the aperture work to have 1/8000 second shutter speeds? It's a HUGE difference between making an aperture stop down before the shutter actuates, and then open back up. The aperture activates at exactly the same speed each time in a normal lens (in less time when stopping down just a little, compared to when it has to stop down a lot for an f16 or f22 setting, but still it will operate at the same speed . . . slowly compared to a fast shutter type aperture).
