Is it crazy to consider leaving my D800 at home while I travel

I really miss IBIS from my Sony/Minolta days. I know that in-lens is is preferable in many cases but a high percentage of Nikon's current lineup isn't even available with any type of IS period. This is especially true with fast primes. That is a real negative of the Nikon system (which I enjoy as a system) versus some others.
