NIKON D7100 or D7000, which is best for bird photography

I currently own a D90 and is thinking of upgrading, either to D7000 or D7100. I mostly taking pictures of birds and other nature stuff, but also using it for vacation, for people and structures.

I've recently bought a Sigma 150-500 and because it needs a lot of light, i need something where i can raise the ISO and still have acceptable IQ. I also have a Nikon 70-300 VR which i dont use so often after i bought the Sigma.

I normally only use one point focus, AFC, and therefore i'm in doubt if i need the 51 focus point in the D7100 over the 39 in D7000. I hardly ever use multipoint AF or 3D in my D90 because i find it to inaccurate when shooting birds, both in flight and when the birds are sitting in trees.

Will IQ be better in D7100 because of more MP or can't i see the difference when using a low budget lens as the Sigma? It's not an option to buy another lens with TC;-).

Finally i wonder if the price difference is worth the upgrade to D7100 over D7000, where i live there is a difference in price at approx. $ 320. I could also buy a used D7000 for approx. $ 300 below the price for at new D7000.
