Do you guys think the prices on a used D3s with drop in the near future since the D4s will be out? Getting a good condition D3s for around $2500 would be amazing
The prices seem to be going up. Right now I see two at KEH, an EX for $3959 and a BGN for $3249. I think a few weeks ago they were selling EX in the neighborhood of $3600. They probably sold it quickly enough to determine that they could try to charge more. Basically, you have to be convinced that you need a D3s to pay this much. On the other hand, both D3 and D700 are priced much more reasonably, and probably a much better choice for most folks looking for similar capabilities. I think you may have to wait 2-3 more years before finding a good D3s in the $2500 range. I suspect the inventory of used D3s is quite limited, and most users who didn't run theirs into the ground are holding on to them.
