Olympus 25mm f1.8 half UK price in Japan

I’m new to this forum so I don’t yet know how it all works.

I was on the Map Camera (Japan) website and noticed (shocked) that the new Olympus 25mm f1.8 is almost half the UK price. It’s even cheaper than the inexpensive Olympus 40-150mm lens.

25mm f1.8

UK Price £369.00

Japan Price £186.00

40-150mm

Japan Price £192.00

The fact that it’s priced below the 40-150mm lens in the Olympus line-up in Japan, suggests to me that this lens is intended to be inexpensive. Japanese prices are obviously always lower but not usually half price. UK prices are known to be quite high but this just seems too much.

Does anyone else feel it’s over-priced in the UK?

I switched from Nikon DSLR to Micro 4/3rds a couple of years ago and I’m very happy with the system.
