When I want the best image quality with the lightest weight and the smallest size - like on multiday backpacking trips or adventure travel - I take my Sony RX1. The IQ is fantastic and having a fixed 35mm lens is not as limiting as you may thing initially. I brought the RX1 and my D600 on my recent trip to China and a good number of the keepers were taken with the RX1.  If you are not planning on doing enlargements, the Sony RX100 is hard to beat and the video is very good too.  Just giving you some more options.
