Weird light source shapes with Panasonic 14mm

I was using the Pan 14mm on my E-M5. I am getting these hazy, fuzzy light sources and some unnecesary hazy blobs of light around light shapes. Also some other small light points which I might refer to as "flare", which should not be there at all.

I was not using the lens with any filters attached. The optics are clean.

Is this normal for this lens, or do I have a defective copy?

You may see many examples below.

Here on the streetlights, and a speck of flare at the center of the image;

Here around the light sources;

The blob around the light source and the flare-like thing at the lower-left of the light source;

The huge haze and blob around the vehicle's headlight and the speck towards the right-top

Light blobs again and is this a clear flare?

Light blobs and specks towards the bottom left.

Blobs in the out of focus light bits;

And a haze around a light source;

Actually I sold the lens to a friend a little while ago. Since I have been using another lens but now I need a normal wide again, so I am intending to buy another Pan 14mm, but this problem is holding me back. Other than this I had been happy with the Pan 14 and I did like it as a pancake lens. Now I am more inclined towards the Oly 17mm 1.8, despite I'll be losing pancake-ness.

So what do you recommend? Any ideas and recommendations appreciated. Thank you.
