4. Take a picture. Turn on "information" when you play the image back. The number in the upper right hand corner will be 101-X, where X is the number of shots taken so far. Can this be reset? Maybe. I don't know.

Yes, that's the file folder (the "101") and the file number (the "X"), and both can easily be changed. That's not the same thing as the number of shutter actuations which can only be changed by the manufacturer, usually when the shutter mechanism is replaced. Many DSLRs save the shutter actuations in the EXIF data, as Fuji's S5Pro did. Earlier versions such as the S3Pro didn't, but if you sent the camera back to Fuji, one of their technician could read the shutter actuations after (as I was told) putting the camera on a "bench". I just checked my X-A1 (I got it just two days ago) but I don't see that the actuations are stored in the EXIF data. I use ExifTool to read stored information and the regular EXIF data shows that the photos were shot using Fuji's "XC 16-50mmF3.5-5.6 OIS" lens and which focal length was used. It also shows things in the Maker Notes section of the EXIF data like the Dynamic Range setting, and whether there were Blur, Focus or Exposure warnings.

Unlike my Nikon DSLRs, Fuji doesn't store the camera's serial number in the EXIF data, but it does store the lens's serial number there.
