Fujifilm X-A1 beginner questions

I recently bought the X-A1 and it will not arrive until next week. I have a lot of general questions as this is my first Fujifilm camera. I have an old, beginners level Canon dslr that I occasionally use. I was attracted by the X-A1 because of the image quality in a small body at a really good price. I tried searching the X-A1 here at dpr but there are not many topics on the camera. If anyone owns the X-A1 I would greatly appreciate it if you could help me with some questions.

1. Would you say the X-A1 was the right decision for you? If you could go back would you buy it again or buy a different camera? I guess I'm a little nervous on my decision to buy it since I already have my Canon dslr. Is it worth it to buy the X-A1 if I already have the Canon? Are the images, particularly the colors and quality, going to be a big enough upgrade to warrant my purchase? Although, if I like the images coming out of the X-A1, I plan on selling or giving away my Canon.

2. Does the X-A1 produce waxy skin tones? If so, what is the best way to prevent this?

3. Do you post process raws or just use the jpegs OOC? Another reason I bought the X-A1 was because of good reviews on the jpegs OOC and I have little experience with post processing.

4. How do you check shutter actuations?

5. When I receive the camera what should I check for?

6. Are there any settings that I should change right away from the defaults?

7. What camera settings do you recommend?

8. Is a grip necessary?
