Lens suggestion for Mediterranean cruise and Rome
1

I'm surprised there aren't more threads like this...seems like the Canon forum in another message board has a travel lens suggestion topic every other thread!

Anyway, I will be getting my X-M1 soon, my first Fuji camera (coming from a Canon 6D and EOS M), with 16-50 kit lens and will definitely be getting the 27mm pancake, and likely also 60mm macro was well. Sale price is just too good!

I only wish to spend about $500 for another lens and want to get a good one for this trip. I will be going on a Mediterranean cruise (not sure which ports yet) but will have extra focus in Rome and Vatican before or after the cruise itself. I can see myself taking landscapes, churches, and general family shots.

Should I get (if I could only get one):

35 1.4 -- seems like everyone's favourite. Fast and less expensive than other fast lenses (looking at you, 23 1.4). But is it wide enough for indoor and church shots? Focal length is covered by 16-50.

14 2.8 -- wide but not as fast. A bit over my budget but would consider it if many people suggest it.

18-55 -- I could sell my 16-50 and get the 18-55. It would be a tad longer than the above 14mm but 18mm would still be 2.8 and much more versatile. I was wanting to keep the 16-50 though due to its smaller size and wanted my kit to be as compact as possible.

18 2.0 -- still quite wide but faster.

55-200/50-230 -- Do I need a zoom lens for this trip? Maybe others with experience can tell me otherwise but I don't see myself mounting this lens other than while at sea.

Any suggestions and advice are welcome!
