As a D800e and 24-70 owner I wish this were true. It is not. Rather, some of Nikon's lenses are degrading Sony's great sensors. An upgrade to the 24-70 is well due.

Sharpness and CA is a clear win to the Canon combo.

Only if you trust DxO.

I trust Lensrentals more.

Great. But with respect, tangential to the point that DXO was being misquoted.

D800 should be equal to D800e at F8.
