Early impressions of the GX7
Lumix G1, having used the G6 (lovely handling IQ similar to G1) and sold it, I now have had the GX7 for 3 weeks. Having lost a lot of money on the G6 I bought a used GX7.
The build is much improved, handling good and image quality much improved. Dynamic range is much better now, the G1 was pretty poor in that respect.
I love it with the 20mm f1.7, as it fits in my jacket pocket and is well balanced in use. It is a little heavy however. The viewfinder worries me as it protrudes quite a lot, I just feel it will be damaged very soon. I don't use the vertical viewfinder position as much as I thought I would, as the tilt screen is better for that purpose.
The supplied strap is terrible, for a camera in this price range I expected better. I think I will use a leather wrist strap in future.
Its a great looking camera I feel, and it is growing on me with use.
