Who looks at their images at 100%? Armies of pixel peepers, a group which correlates all too well with many who post here.

What 'sounds reasonable' to you is not generally a good indicator of what is useful.

It's the modern trend. Individual instinct trumps evidence. Look at statistics for the number who don't believe in evolution or who believe the sun revolves around the earth, etc., etc.
