AE bracketing or 1 RAW for HDR

I'm considering the xt-1 over the OMD now. the only thing bothering me is that the auto bracketing on the fuji would only give me -1,0,+1  .. which may not be enuf of a spread (i dont use a tripod when i travel)... for HDR work.

I'm wondering if anyone has compared  a merge with auto bracketing of 3 jpegs , and with 3 exposure tweaks with a single RAW file.

I know that RAW contains more dynamic range than a jpeg, but i dont think you can pull out the equivalent of -1 (jpeg). i have always understand that you can pull A LITTLE more range out of raw...

just wondering if anyone has compared an exposure merge using both processes...

(probably an HDR with -1/0/1 is more natural looking than if the camera could do -2/0/2 ?)
