It would probably cost you nothing to sell it and move on.  You do this as a business.  By the time you take your deductions  ( here in Canada you can get a refund on your HST ( tax )) and depreciation you would be out little to nothing to replace it.  You can never win at this point.  If Nikon does replace your camera it's only to make you go away.  You haven't proven anything.
