Don't under estimate the image quality of the EOS M.

It has the same 18 megapixel APS-C sensor as the T4i.

The lens that comes with it has better image quality than the lens that came with your T3.

The only negative of the EOS M was that its first firmware version had slow focus and Canon priced it above the T4i. Canon has since released an updated firmware that fixed the slow focus, and cut the price in half.

You'd be very hard pressed to find better image quality for the dollar.
