it'll be just an aps-c camera with no 'pedigree', and won't sell.

How does pedigree make your photos better?

I think there is a fundamental issue between 'gearhead' ie the name on the lump hanging around the photographers neck and the quality of the images taken with the brick.

Are you a poser or a photographer? If a poser then you really should spend some money on a Leica system. If a photographer then the Sammy will do you fine..unless you need the real benefits of FF and most amateurs decidedly don't.

This is similar territory to the sales rep rolling up to the client in a Ferrari or a Hyundai. The quality of the combine harvesters the guy is selling are no different but the 'swank' factor is. Will he sell more harvesters driving the Ferrari or the Hyundai?

I run a small specialist photo business and haven't had any issues whatsoever with using Samsung cameras. Even when the client has commented it is usually complimentary on the image quality and handy size of the cameras. The only pushback has been unwisely doing technical shoot of a building using the 16mm prime where the uncorrected RAW distortions in the lens required a re-shoot.

The degree of technical knowledge of the fanboi owner is inversely proportional to the size of his ego.
