Annoying UK pricing

I just followed a link to Amazon UK after reading the article about the A6000.

  • UK pre-order price (body only) is £665.28
  • US pre-order price is $648.00 (

So the A6000 is more than 1.6x more expensive in the UK than in the US

Camera stuff is always a bit more expensive here in the UK, but I find the policy of $ = £ annoying - particularly as it only seems to apply to NEX type cameras. The policy doesn't extend to the FF cameras:

  • The A7 UK RRP is £1299.99 compared to $1699.99 in the US (prices from Sony Amazon).
  • The UK price is now discounted to £1187.74 and as low as £999.00 via third-party sellers on Amazon.

The A6000 should be a sub £500 camera. At that price they'd sell like hot cakes IMO

I guess the UK market will probably take the $ = £ price for the A6000, but I still find it a bit irksome
