Ok. The NX20 on wireless viewfinder is broadcasting an ip of 192.168.16.20 which is completely unrelated to the house wireless lan.
Yep, it's acting as the router in this situation. Does the NX20 do the DLNA sharing mode like the NX300 does? On the NX300: Wifi on the dial -> Allshare Play -> Nearby devices (Share content via DLNA), this mode allows VLC to browse and play the content of the camera, but video is not well buffered this way, using Samsung's Allshare site/application with it and Windows Media Player produces better results, quite good in fact. If only this mode wasn't so hard on the battery I would probably make much more use of it.
No it doesn't do DLNA. I'm trying to do exactly what you mention above on the NX20 via VLC (which works fairly well with a GoPro). The buffering is a separate issue: The GoPro streams directly with it's IP entered into VLC streaming setup without any further adjustment. The downside is that any attempt to save the stream immediately crashes VLC.
I can connect to the NX20 without difficulty: The camera simply doesn't react to the connection and shuts its wireless down within 60 seconds...
Maybe the "B" mode is DLNA? It needs to be talking to the tv somehow:
nvm, all the wireless is under the "B" mode, I mean icon in the manual may be to a DLNA mode.

I would probably be more helpful here if I owned an NX20... lol
You want to record the stream? A workaround might be to use a good screencapture program for the actual recording. Of course this has implications for the quality, etc..., but so does recording a stream.
