D800 shutter speed problem

I was shooting last week in extremely cold weather and do not know if this was a factor but the D800e I was using on Aperture mode would change shutter speeds and one shot would be at 1/500s which was correct for the scene and the next could be 1/125s, 1/4s, 1/8s, and completely overexpose the scene.

According to the file data these were the shutter speeds selected by the camera. I do not know if the shutter is dragging and the time is written to the file as a calculation or if there is a defective component in the camera.

Has anyone else experienced this with their D800/D800e cameras?
