Are you expecting everyone in the world to have the correct information about everything?

Do you consider mFT fanbos who goes around saying that mFT is the future and everything else are dinosaurs to be the same misinformed group or do you hail them as heroes.

You vent because people were wrong about mFT so I"m asking you this, do you publicly stand up for other systems when an mFT fanboy starts bad mouthing other systems?

You must have just skimmed through the original post, and not taken the time to try and understand what the OP was trying to say.

People who are teaching a basic course should at least understand the most important, core concepts of the topic they are supposedly the experts in.  Even if you remove MFT cameras from the discussion entirely, the OP would still have a very valid point. Namely, the instructor was flat-out wrong in his comments about APS-C crop factors. That means he was spreading incorrect information of a very basic nature, that could have negative effects upon anyone in the class looking to buy a lens for their APS-C camera, whether they owned a Canon, Nikon, Sony, Pentax, Sigma etc. THAT is why the OP was irritated.

It's as if an auto mechanics instructor made the statement that all American cars had 8-cylinder engines and European cars all had four cylinders. Or, saying all European cars ran on kerosene. Would you want such a dimwit working on your own car?
