RX10 lens compared to alternatives

Here is a comparison I've done of the RX10's lens vs other midrange zoom options available on various formats. The purpose of the comparison is to test the RX10's suitability as a DSLR/MFT replacement in terms of landscape performance (all shot at/near infinity).

The edge and corner crops are at the extreme edge/corner of the frame. For each focal length I focused once in the center and then repositioned the building to be at the edge and then corner of the frame - this means the images will reflect any field curvature in the results. Note that the RX10's f/11 have a significant dropoff in sharpness due to diffraction.

Nikon D600 + Tamron 24-70mm f/2.8 VC

Sony A7 + Sony 28-70mm f/3.5 - f/5.6 FE

Nikon D5100 + Tamron 17-50mm f/2.8 non-VC

Olympus E-M5 + Panasonic 12-35mm f/2.8

Sony RX10

For scale, here is what the scene looks like at 24mm (far building in the center is the subject)

Nikon D5100 Nikon D600 Sony Alpha 7 Sony Cyber-shot DSC-RX10
