To complement the 12-40 with a prime in that range, a faster lens is an advantage.

If you feel the 45mm is too long for what you have in mind, the Panasonic 25mm would be one consideration.   Even better, if you don't mind MF, a 17.5 or 25mm(f/0.95) Voigtlander provides even more of an advantage for low light, and a distinct character that many quite enjoy.
