Is it my lens or me. The arrow or the Indian. I have an 18-300 mm lens that takes great pics at certain photo lengths. From 18 to about 220 the photos are crisp, clear and I am very pleased with them. But from 220 - 300 not so much. I even tried a tripod and made sure my shutter speed was way up. Still cloudy and not crisp photos. Any thoughts.
You need to stop the lens down further as you zoom towards the top end. For instance, if shooting at max zoom (300mm) you should stop the aperture down at least two stops to get decent IQ. You can't expect great quality from a superzoom wide open, especially at the extremes of the zoom range.
Btw, as already mentioned, that is the wrong lens for the camera. Get the 28-300mm FX lens instead. I've got one and I like it a lot, but I know it's limits.
