Foveon sensor??

I forget what Fuji calls its sensor, X-Trans or something. This particular non-Bayer array approach was devised by a company called Foveon, as a I recall.

Slightly different - Fuji uses a different ratio of RGB from Bayer, Foveon uses a three-layer approach to it (from what I recall). The Foveon is stunning at low ISO and beats the X-Trans by a margin, but it quickly gets noisy and unusable the higher you go. The X is very nice and very flexible right up the range, liberating in fact.
